'Cyberpunk 2077' comes out next April, and Keanu Reeves is in it

Oh, heck yeah.

Okay. What. WHAT?! CD Projekt Red has just unveiled a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 which ends with the most unexpectedly brilliant celebrity appearance: Keanu Reeves. Yep, the man himself. It's not clear what role he plays in the story, but we don't care. He's in the game. The actor, best known for his work in the Matrix and John Wick movies, then appeared on the Xbox stage to chat a bit about the game and generally be a good sport.

Oh, and we got a release date today: April 16th, 2020.

The game, if you need a refresher, is an open-world adventure set in a fictional metropolis called Night City. It's a loose adaptation, or continuation, of the Cyberpunk board game and its sequel, Cyberpunk 2020, which were released in 1988 and 1990 respectively. Early trailers and surprisingly extensive gameplay demos have shown the main character, V -- a customizable mercenary -- fighting through a world controlled by corporations and street-level gangs. Futuristic tech including cybernetic implants play a large role, unsurprisingly. It's a massive departure from the high fantasy setting of The Witcher, and we can't wait to jump in.
